According to a report by reporter Du Liyan, a home fan stripped off his shirt at Phoenix Hill Stadium in support of Rongcheng manager Xu Zhengyuan. Xu Zhengyuan was questioned for substituting players such as Wei Shihao during Rongcheng's 0-2 loss away to Seaport. Du Liyan wrote on social media, "Last night at Phoenix Hill Stadium, some Chengdu fans stripped off their clothes to support Xu Zhengyuan, and also mentioned his decision to replace Wei Shihao early in his team's 0-2 away loss to Seaport. What do people think about this?"
A photo he posted on social media showed fans wearing T-shirts with pictures and text supporting Xu Zhengyuan, with the text expressing the view that "A manager who is ranked third in the league shouldn't be subjected to so many accusations, criticisms and questions! Replacing Wei Shihao can also be seen as a show of support for him!"
