On the eve of the first round of the UEFA Champions League stage away to AC Milan, Liverpool manager Slotter was interviewed by Sky Sport Italia on Milan's historical origins, match strategy and the team's form.

Talking about the historical connection between Milan and Holland, Slote said, "Milan and Holland do have a deep connection, especially with the addition of world-class players like Gullit, Rijkaard and Van Basten, which has given Milan a special place in the hearts of Dutch fans. For people of my age, Milan is not just a soccer club, but a symbol of soccer culture."

When asked what changes he would make compared to the last game, Slot was cautious: "Every game is unique and we need to develop our tactics according to the characteristics of our opponents, our own form and the specifics of the game. We played a game only two days ago, so we need to fully analyze the gains and losses of the last game and make adjustments based on that. Of course, we will also study Milan in depth to understand their tactical style and players' characteristics in order to better cope with this game."

Regarding new signing Federico Chiesa, Slot revealed, "Chiesa is not ready to start yet, but he is gradually integrating into the team. If he's with us during a game, that means he's capable of coming on and playing a few minutes. We've been working hard to help him regain his form and get him up to speed with the team. After the Euros he came back to Juventus and has been training on his own, but since joining Liverpool he has been working very hard with us. I'm confident he'll be able to play in the tournament."
