The Chinese Super League's opening ceremony for the new season will not be held in Tianjin, but the national soccer team's home for World Cup qualifiers will be in the city, according to a Gu Ying reporter.

Gu Ying took a photo on his personal microblog and wrote:Near the Chinese New Year, there are two things in Chinese soccer that are almost related to Tianjin in March. The first is the national soccer team seeking a home ground, and the second is the Chinese Super League officials discussing with the Jinmen Tigers club and the Tianjin district the possibility of hosting the opening ceremony of the new Chinese Super League season. Despite the fact that the TEDA soccer stadium had hosted the opening ceremony of the first year of the Chinese Super League in 2004, and now 20 years later again the opening ceremony will be held in the TEDA soccer stadium undoubtedly has a great significance. However, after a comprehensive evaluation of the current situation and taking into account the strong wishes of other regions, the opening ceremony of the league could not be held in Tianjin. However, the national soccer team did come to Tianjin.

According to the schedule, the national soccer team will host Singapore and Thailand in the 36th round of the World Qualifiers in March and June this year. According to earlier reports, the Chinese Football Association (CFA) conducted an inspection of the soccer field situation in Tianjin on February 4th.
