In the early hours of December 25, Beijing time, the Serbian head coach of Chinese Super League club Meizhou Hakka, Milan Ristic, announced on social media that he was leaving the team. This also means that he will no longer be the club's head coach next season.
Milan Ristic wrote emotionally, "Thank you Hakka, thank you fans for three wonderful years. You have given me a lot. I hope I was good and loyal to you. I will always be your soldier. You will always be in my heart. Now we are separated after the implementation. But I hope we can be together again. Goodbye Hakka, thank you and I will always love you." The 42-year-old young coach also posted photos of him paying tribute to the fans to show his gratitude.
Born in 1981, Milan Ristic has been the head coach of Meizhou Hakka FC since February 2021.In the 2021 season, he guided Meizhou Hakka to a second-place finish in the league with 75 points from 34 rounds of matches, before Wuhan Sanzhen managed to overtake them.
In the 2022 season, under the training of Milan Ristic, the "small business" Meizhou Hakka ended up in ninth place in the Chinese Super League, making new history in the music sector, even above Shanghai Shenhua. In the past 2023 season, Meizhou Hakka continued to perform well, finishing 11th in the Chinese Super League, 14 points above the relegation zone.
After Milan Ristic left Meizhou Hakka, his next stop is also the focus of attention. Earlier, some media outlets claimed that the young Serbian coach will take over the promotion horse Qingdao West Coast. Regardless of where he goes in the future, with a successful resume in Meizhou, I believe he has no shortage of invitations from Chinese league clubs.
