Today, Shanghai Harbor Club celebrates its 18th birthday.
The predecessor of Harbour Club, namely Shanghai Dongya FC, was officially established on December 25, 2005. Shanghai Dongya made its professional debut in 2006, winning the Chinese League B title in 2007, and was successfully promoted to the Chinese Super League in 2012.
At the end of 2014, Shanghai SIPG officially took over the club and renamed it Shanghai SIPG. In the 2018 season, Shanghai SIPG won the Chinese Super League title one round ahead of schedule, the first league trophy since the club's inception.
At the beginning of 2021, Shanghai SIPG was renamed Shanghai Harbor FC. In the 2023 season, the club managed to win their second Chinese Super League trophy in team history.
