Bulgarian coach Yasen Petrov will become the official head coach of the Sea Bulls. He has coached in China for many years.
The name Yasen Petrov is not unfamiliar to many Chinese soccer fans, especially to fans in Wuhan and Shijiazhuang. Yasen can be said to have a deep connection with Chinese soccer. As early as 1997, he entered the Chinese soccer scene as a Bulgarian international, playing for Wuhan Yaqi as a foreigner. It was when he was the head coach of Shijiazhuang Yongchang that he really made his mark in the Chinese soccer world. At the time, fans affectionately called him "the most pro-people manager", as he often appeared on the streets after matches and ate kebabs with the fans. This pro-people behavior earned him a lot of popularity. Yassen first coached Shijiazhuang Yongchang in 2013 and led the team to a successful Super League run the following year, finishing seventh in the Chinese Super League, leaving in 2016.He coached Yongchang again in 2018 and led the team for 10 months. He has also coached the Henan Jianye team and the Beijing North Sports University team.
