The CFA recently announced the list for the Asian Cup training, but non-blooded naturalized players such as Aixon, Fernando, Allan and Lo Guofu were not selected, which means they will be out of the national team altogether. Judging by his performance, Allan has not seen much playing time since his return to Brazil and he has been released from his contract with the club. Fernando returned to the Chinese Super League to join Taishan, but he didn't win a starting position at Taishan through his performances, and Aixon still maintains a good goal-scoring efficiency in Chengdu, but has never been able to find a goal in the national team, and feels that this is the main reason why he couldn't participate in the consecutive World Cup qualifiers and the Asian Cup.
Of the aforementioned national team players with naturalized status, the one in the best shape is Lo Guofu. He is currently playing for the Brazilian club Minero America. Last season, Lok Kwok Fu performed well for Minero Americas, scoring consecutive goals. However, he missed half of the season in the Barclays Premier League because he suffered a serious injury. According to Brazilian media reports, a Chinese Super League team invited Lok Guofu to return to the Chinese Super League after his contract with Minero Americas expired this September. Many Chinese fans also hoped that Luo Guofu could find his form in the Chinese Super League and play for the national team again, like Aixon, to improve the efficiency of the national team's offense. Unfortunately, Luo Guofu himself rejected the offer from the Chinese Super League, and still plans to extend his contract with his old club Minero Americas, or consider joining another Brazilian league team.
Personally, I think that Luo Guofu's refusal to play for a Chinese Super League (CSL) team only shows that in the eyes of naturalized players, the overall level and competitiveness of the CSL is limited. They prefer to stay in a high-level league to maintain their form, and naturalized internationals like Luo Guofu, who made a lot of money back in the golden era of the Chinese Super League, don't need to play for the national football team to make money. In reality, the relationship between naturalized players and the national football team is just an employment relationship, and they lack a sense of identification with Chinese culture and the standard of Chinese players. They may not play for the national soccer team for the rest of their lives if they are not motivated by huge financial benefits. Luo Guofu's rejection of the Chinese Super League team's offer means that national football manager Jankovic will lose the naturalized Brazilian striker at the Asian Cup. The burden of scoring for the national soccer team still falls on local players such as Wu Lei and Wei Shihao.
However, Luo Guofu and other foreign players who have been naturalized as Chinese national players have rejected the invitation of the Chinese Super League teams, which has caused great embarrassment to the CFA. Originally, the CFA hoped that these players would return to the national team in order to improve the overall competitiveness of the national team and achieve satisfactory results in the Asian Cup and World Cup qualifiers. However, the reality has given them a blow. The CFA must now recognize the fact that the national team naturalization program has ended in failure. In order to improve the level of Chinese soccer, it is necessary to fundamentally strengthen the youth training and cultivate outstanding soccer talents, which is the only way out for Chinese soccer.
