In an exciting showdown in the third round of the English League Cup, Tottenham Hotspur came back to beat Coventry 2-1 thanks to Brennan Johnson's killer goal in extra time. After the match, the accomplished player was interviewed by the media, sharing his journey and feelings in this victory.

Brennan Johnson said that when he was subbed in, he didn't expect to have his own highlight reel this early. "Tonight, when I came on, it was probably a little earlier than I expected. I told myself to stay positive, confident and have faith that the opportunity would come." He continued, "I kept thinking 'never give up' because I knew that at any moment on the soccer field, a reversal could happen. Fortunately, the ball ended up bouncing to me and I was in exactly the right position."

For the game-winning goal, Brennan credited teammate Bentancourt's precise direct kick. "Bentancur is a very good player and when he got the ball I knew to run into a position where he could find me." He explained, "His pass was spot on and I just had to appear in that position and finish the shot. It was a great matchup and I'm glad I was able to capitalize on it."

Reflecting on the entire game, Brennan admitted that his team did not play perfectly in the game. "We were probably a little disappointed with our performance because we looked a little lazy at certain points." He said, "But fortunately, we didn't give up. In those critical moments, even though none of us played our best, we found a way to win. It's a testament to our team's resilience and fighting spirit."

Speaking about his goal, Brennan said it was his first of the season and while he wished it had come sooner, scoring at the last minute was just as special. "The goal was very important to me, not only did it give me my first goal of the season, but more importantly it helped the team win the game." He added, "It's motivating for everyone that we were able to come through and show that final fight in those back-to-back moments. I was happy to be the one to score the winning goal."
