On Sky Sports, former Liverpool legendary defender Carragher fondly recalled the end of his career, especially the difficult period when he almost left Liverpool because he could not accept being a fringe player. Carragher's candid sharing allowed fans to once again feel his love and dedication to soccer.

Carragher admits that throughout his career, every season he aimed to play a full 50 games for Liverpool. This belief drove him to challenge himself and he managed to do so in nine seasons in the decade from 2000, only failing to do so in the season when he broke his leg. He describes himself as playing "a game every three days", and this desire and dedication to the game has made him the lynchpin of Liverpool's back line.

However, with the growth of age and changes in the team's lineup, Carragher also had to face the reality that he gradually became a substitute. He said bluntly that he could not accept that he was sitting on the bench, not to mention being a spectator in the game. This strong sense of self-esteem and love for soccer made him experience a period of internal struggle at the end of his career. But fortunately, he received support and encouragement from then manager Rodgers. Rodgers advised him to persevere and not to give up lightly. It was this perseverance that allowed Carragher to return to the field at the end of the season and complete a perfect ending to his career.

Carragher had a brilliant career at Liverpool, making 737 appearances for the team, making him the second most played player in Liverpool's history. He not only won many honors for the team, but also stepped up at critical moments and contributed to the team's victories. Carragher's performance was especially impressive in the 2004-05 Champions League season.

In the period leading up to his retirement, Carragher confessed that he had felt awkward and uneasy. He was worried that he would make mistakes in the game, and even worried that he would be replaced by younger players in training. But it was this reverence for soccer and the strict demands on himself that kept him eager and focused on the game. In the end, he ended his career in a decent way without leaving any regrets for himself.
