With Manchester United rebounding strongly after a tough start to the season, with consecutive 3-0 victories over Southampton and a 7-0 thrashing of Barnsley, the team's new recruits are gradually showing their strength and value. Former Manchester United defender Paul Parker recently shared his insights on United's new summer recruits, particularly praising the outstanding performances of De Ligt and Mazrahi.
Derek De Ligt, a 25 year old defender who has already won titles in three different national leagues, has quickly become a stalwart in the backline of Manchester United after joining the club. Parker pointed out that the arrival of Derek not only improves the speed of United's defense, but also makes the team's ability to control the ball has been significantly enhanced. In the match against Southampton, Derek Hunt even scored a goal, showing his all-round ability. However, Parker also mentioned United's current shortcomings at left back, especially Luke Shaw's injury which has left the team weak on that side. Nonetheless, Parker is confident that de Ligt will continue to play an important role at United.
Another high-profile recruit is Mazrahi, who was met with some skepticism at the beginning of his time at United, but Parker was full of praise for him. According to Parker, Mazrahi has proved himself at United despite not getting much of a chance to play at Bayern Munich for various reasons. Parker emphasized that Mazrahi has all the qualities required of a right-back in modern soccer, including excellent speed, defensive awareness and attacking ability. In a few games at United, Mazrahi has established himself as a starter at right back, and Parker even hailed him as one of United's best right backs since the Ferguson era.
In contrast, Zilkzer's situation is more awkward. Parker believes that after Hoylum's return from injury, he will occupy the team's starting striker's position, while Zirkezer is facing fierce competition. Parker pointed out that unless Ten Hagar changes his tactical system, it will be difficult for Zirkerzer to get a stable chance to play in United. Nonetheless, Parker also expressed his recognition of Zirkezer's potential and hoped that he would find his place in future matches.
