In an exclusive interview with Liontalk, Moroccan star Aznou opens up and shares his experiences growing up in the national team, Bayern Munich and in his personal life.
National team debut: confidence and enjoyment
Speaking about his debut with the national team against Lesotho, Aznu said, "That's my style of play, I always try to enjoy the game on the pitch. Whether it's the first time or any time, especially when I am surrounded by good players who inspire confidence in me, I am more daring to try new things and show what I can do." He emphasized that the encouragement from his coaches, teammates and fans has made him even more determined.
Support from the family
Aznu is grateful for his family: "Since I was very young, my father has always helped me with everything; he took me everywhere and thanks to him I started playing soccer. My mother has always provided everything when I needed it. I come from a humble and hardworking family and I thank Allah for being able to make them happy." The support of his family is a source of motivation that keeps him going.
A deep bond with Ashraf
In the national team, Aznu is very close to Ashraf. He describes Ashraf as being like his older brother, giving him selfless help and support from day one. Ashraf's encouragement has helped Aznu integrate into the national team family faster.
The decision to choose Morocco and Bayern
On why he chose to play for Morocco rather than Spain, Aznu said, "The coach has his reasons and Allah has a plan for everyone." And on his decision to leave Barcelona at the age of 16 to join Bayern, he admits, "A big club with a long history like Bayern was impossible to refuse, they offered me an attractive project and helped me financially."
Friendship with Yamal
Speaking about his teammate Yamal from his La Masia days, Aznu said that the two have always maintained a close relationship. Even though Yamal chose to represent Spain, Aznu has always supported his decision, just as Yamal supported him to join Bayern.
Goals for the new season
For the new season, Aznu is looking forward to the new season: "I hope to get playing time in the first team and try to get a place in the team. At the same time I hope to improve physically." He is aware of the fierce competition in a big club like Bayern, but he believes he can achieve his goal through hard work.
