Real Betis FC President Angel Haro recently spoke to the media about the potential transfer of Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Cardoso. He revealed a unique transfer clause that would enable Real Betis to receive a portion of the proceeds from Cardoso's future transfer if Tottenham do not choose to execute the purchase option for Cardoso next summer.

Harrow said that the clause was set up to be an interesting one for both clubs as it brings extra added value to Real Betis. He explained, "In short, if Betis are successful in selling Cardoso in the future and receive transfer proceeds as a result, then Tottenham will also be entitled to a share of that. This arrangement is both fair and sensible and ensures that both parties benefit in the development of the player's career."

This follows the successful transfer of another Tottenham Hotspur player, Lo Celso, to Real Betis in a deal that included a special clause relating to Cardoso. Under this clause, Spurs have the right to trigger Cardoso's transfer by paying a fixed fee of €25m (£21m). This means that Tottenham have decision-making power over Cardoso's destination in the future, and they can choose whether to include the player in their squad or to allow Real Betis to benefit from Cardoso's subsequent transfer by waiving their right to buy.

Haro expressed his respect for Tottenham's option, noting that if Tottenham do decide to execute the right to buy, it would be a high and favorable deal for Real Betis. However, he also said that Real Betis are ready to respond positively to whatever option Tottenham make and will continue to look for opportunities to strengthen their squad.
