Born in Spain in 1979, Gabriele had an illustrious career as a player. He made his debut in youth training with La Masia and played for Barcelona, Ajax Holland, Qatar's Umm Siraal, Switzerland's Sion and Sporting Lausanne.
After his retirement, Gabri coached Barcelona B and Barcelona Junior A teams. In the following years, he coached Swiss Super League teams Sion, Andorra España, Olot, Sporting Leida, and Sabadell, among others, and gained a wealth of coaching experience.
Nantong Zhiyun announced on June 16 this year that Gabri was appointed as the head coach of the team's first team. However, just three months later, the Barcelona legend decided to resign from his position.
