In the 2023 Chinese Super League (CSL) season, Dalian Ren managed to beat Shanghai Shenhua 2:1, ending their streak of 18 consecutive rounds without a win in the league.
The match started with a confrontation between the two sides. In the twenty-third minute, Shanghai Shenhua's Zhang Wei scored a header, but it was ruled out for offside. Two minutes later, Dalian Ren sent a high-quality cross to the side of the field, and foreign striker Manzocchi scored the first goal with a header. With the victory in this round of matches, Dalian People not only overtook Shenzhen and Nantong Zhiyun in the table, but also jumped out of the relegation zone for the time being.
