In a recent interview with the media, Carrasco gave an in-depth analysis of why Felix failed to succeed at Atletico Madrid and expressed his best wishes for his future career.
Carrasco began by recognizing Felix's talent: "Everyone in soccer knows that Felix is an extremely talented player, and that talent is innate." However, he went on to point out that talent is not everything in the sport of soccer. "Obviously, in the world of soccer, sometimes talent is not the most important factor. Along with talent, there is a need for discipline, a high level of concentration and relentless hard work."
Speaking about Felix's performance at Atletico, Carrasco believes that while Felix has a good attitude, he may not be following the coach's instructions to the letter. "When you're young, as an attacking player, you tend to be more inclined to attack than to defend. Sometimes you may not be putting in the effort that the coach expects on the defensive end."
Carrasco also emphasized the special nature of Atletico Madrid as a club. "It's not easy to play for Atletico because it requires players to put in a huge amount of effort and not just rely on talent. When I joined Atletico from Monaco, I was also young and initially had a lot of difficulties. I didn't get a chance to play for three months. But then I earned my place, which required me to change my mentality. Every player is different and I'm glad I realized that, otherwise I could have left after six months."
Finally, Carrasco expressed his best wishes for Felix's future. "I wish Felix all the best at Chelsea and believe he will improve year by year. It's really not easy to join a big club like Atletico Madrid at such a young age with the pressure that comes with a high transfer fee. I think he has made progress and wish him a happy time at Chelsea and show the world what he is made of."
