La Liga president Carlos Tevas has ended up receiving only a public warning from the Administrative Court of Sport (TAD) after facing a major allegation that could have led to the revocation of his post, according to Daily Sport. The decision was announced on Friday, ending the controversy that has surrounded Tevas since July 23rd.

Previously, Real Madrid, as the prosecuting party, challenged the Extraordinary General Assembly of La Liga held on August 12, 2021, convened by Tevez. For its part, Real Madrid argued that the meeting was not given the required amount of notice, having been sent out only eight days in advance, whereas, according to La Liga's bylaws, meetings of a non-emergency nature should be given at least 10 days' notice. Real Madrid used this as a reason to try to remove Tevas from the La Liga presidency.

However, after a period of scrutiny, the Administrative Court of Sport (TAD) did not find sufficient grounds to disqualify Twas. The court found that although the notice of the meeting was indeed slightly shorter than the required period, this did not constitute a serious violation and was not sufficient to disqualify Twas. Therefore, the court ultimately decided to give Tevas a public warning as punishment for the incident.

The decision means that Tevas will remain in his position as La Liga president, while Real Madrid, for their part, have failed to keep him out of power as they had hoped. La Liga and Tevas himself may feel relieved at this result, while Real Madrid may need to reassess its strategy towards La Liga and its leadership.
