Former Guangzhou Evergrande player Situ Huarong has ended his career, according to media personality Chen Ning. He had been involved in an exchange of blows with teammate Wang Junhui during a reserve team match.
On April 9, 2018, Guangzhou Evergrande faced Shandong Luneng in the Chinese Super League reserve team league. At that time, there was an argument between Evergrande players Wang Junhui and Situ Huarong over the handling of the ball. After the match, both were given a 10-month ban and a 200,000 yuan fine by the Football Association.
Chen Ning revealed that 26-year-old Situ Huarong decided to bid farewell to the green field in early 2020 after many twists and turns and a knee injury. Now, together with a few brothers from Guangzhou Evergrande, he has opened a youth soccer club called "Star Sheng" in Heshun Township, Lishui, South China Sea.
