After Leonardo's departure from the team, Changchun Yatai quickly identified a new foreigner - according to the official website of Budapest Defenders, 30-year-old Serbian striker Nenad Lukic will move to CSL club Changchun Yatai. Lukic's transfer fee is reportedly 150,000 euros.

Lukić, 30, is a Serbian center with a height of 1.85 meters. In the early stages of his career, he played for Donisrem, Subotica Sparta, Bezagna, Radnik, Zemun, Rad and Boraczacak.
In the summer of 2018, Lukic turned to Funderbarski. In his first season with the team, he scored 9 goals and led the team to promotion. In the following seasons 2019/20 and 2020/21, Lukić scored 16 and 18 goals, respectively, each of which was rewarded with the Srpska Premier League Golden Boot and Srpska Premier League Silver Boot. During that time, he was selected for the Serbian national team, coached by Stolica (interim coach).

In the summer of 2021, Lukic joined Hungarian Liga side Budapest Defenders for a €350,000 transfer fee. Despite the Serbian striker's consistent output over the past two seasons, his individual efforts could not stop the club's continued decline. At the end of last season, Budapest Defenders entered the second division.
According to the regulations of the Hungarian Football Federation, second division teams cannot register foreign players, but Budapest Defenders activated Lukic's extension clause to recoup part of the transfer fee (the original contract expires on June 30, 2023, with a one-year extension option).

After nearly a week of negotiations, Budapest Defenders reached an agreement with Changchun Yatai on Lukić's transfer. Sporting Director Gael Guy also expressed his sincere wishes for Lukic's departure: "In recent years, few foreigners have been recognized by the Budapest defenders, but not everyone. Nenad Lukić is such a good player. He did his best for the club and was outstanding on the pitch. He contributed to the club through his goals and assists. Thank you for everything you have done for the Budapest defensemen. I wish you good luck for the future."

The home of the Kishpesht Defenders will always hold a special place in my heart. I want each and every one of you to know that I will always be grateful for your support. I will always be watching the team and cheering for the Defenders as they work towards promotion."
