Asia's Top 18 and advance to the 2026 World Cup. The next round will be October 2024 on match day.
Popovic, a native of Sydney, Australia, played at center back during his playing days. He has coached the Western Sydney Wanderers, Perth Glory and Melbourne Victory, and in 2014 he led the Western Sydney Wanderers to become the first Australian team to win the AFC Champions League.
The first game of the national team coaching will be on October 10 at home in the Chinese men's football team.
