In the pre-match press conference ahead of Crystal Palace's home game against Manchester United in the fifth round of the Premier League, Crystal Palace boss Glasner provided an update on the team's injuries and preparations.
Glasner began by talking about the recovery progress of newcomers Chalobah and Franza. He said that Chalobah is recovering well and although he will not be able to play tomorrow's match, he is expected to return to the team next week. Similarly, Franza's recovery has been quicker than expected and he has been training with the team, although it's too early for this round of comebacks, but his return is imminent.
Speaking about Sheikh Doucoure's injury, Glasner revealed that the player will be out for a couple of weeks due to a toe injury. He emphasized that while Doucoure is saddened by this, the injury is fortunately not as serious as he thought. Doucoure is already working towards a comeback and the team is looking forward to his return.
Regarding Adam Walton, Glassner explained that Walton needs time to recover due to the pressure of a doubleheader week. He wasn't completely pain free, and some days things got better, but other days they got worse. As a result, the coaching staff decided to rest him mid-week to better prepare for the upcoming games.
Speaking about Ismaila Sarr, Glasner spoke highly of his performance. He believes that Sarr always makes a positive impact on the team when he comes on as a substitute, and has shown great strength both as a striker and as a wing-back. Glasner believes that Sal will get more and more opportunities to play as time goes on.
Additionally, Glasner mentioned the versatility of Kamada Earth. He stated that the player can play in multiple positions and offers great flexibility to the team. Similarly, players such as Nketiah and Lerma have the ability to play in different positions.
Finally, when it comes to evaluating Eze, Glasner did not mince words in praising the England international. He believes that Eze is not only talented, but also extremely professional, always contributing to the team's goals in the game. At the same time, Eze also maintains a humble and enterprising attitude, constantly seeking to improve and enhance.
