Chelsea manager Maresca was interviewed by TNT Sports before the crucial away match against West Ham United in the 5th round of the English Premier League. Returning to the home of West Ham United, where he once coached, Maresca's heart is full of emotions.
The interview began with Maresca expressing his joy at being back, "It's great to be back. I had almost two great years here, working with a great group of players and great people." His words reveal how much he misses and cherishes the experience.
Talking about the upcoming matches, Maresca emphasized the importance of the results, but he is more interested in the team's progress and adaptation process. He said: "Of course, the result of the match is always crucial. But it is more important to observe how the team is progressing and adapting to the new environment during the matches. As of now, I think we are moving steadily in the right direction."
Speaking about Sancho in the starting lineup for the game, Maresca explained his choice: "The decision to start Sancho was not an easy one to make because we have many strong players in the team. But in the end we chose Jaden (Sancho) and hopefully this decision will bring us a positive result."
