After the selection, Dalianjin veteran Yan Xiangguan was named the best player in the first round of the new Chinese Super League season. He then updated his status on social media to encourage himself.
In the first round, Dalianjin beat Nantong Zhiyun 2-1 at home, with 37-year-old Yan Xiangguan bagging both of Dalianjin's goals. Today, he also managed to beat Paulinho, Serginho, Ma Zhen and Yuan Min Cheng to be elected as the best player of the first round.
