According to a recent report from leading Belgian media outlet Press Gazette, English Premier League giants Arsenal Football Club are planning to offer team striker Leandro Trossard a new contract in recognition of his outstanding performances and key role in the team. Despite the fact that Martinelli has been given more chances in terms of game time, Trossard has been more effective on the pitch, being involved in a goal every 111 minutes, compared to Martinelli's efficiency of being involved in a goal every 169 minutes.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has spoken highly of Trossard's ability and contribution and has rejected enquiries from several teams for the Belgian international this summer. Among them, Saudi giants Jeddah United had made a tempting offer, including a €5 million loan fee and a €25 million mandatory buyout clause, as well as offering Trossard a whopping €15 million a year, which is almost three times his current salary. However, Arsenal firmly rejected the offer and Trossard himself has expressed little desire to play in Saudi Arabia.
Newsday notes that Trossard maintains a strong desire to continue to enhance his career at Arsenal, both on an earning and competitive level. Trossard's current contract with Arsenal is set to expire in 2026, and although the two sides have yet to officially open talks on an extension, Arsenal have made clear their willingness to offer him a new deal.
