In the quarterfinals against Colombia, Cameroon once again made history, beating their opponents 2:1 to become one of the top eight teams in the tournament. Unfortunately, in the next quarterfinal, Cameroon drew 2-2 with England in regulation time and then went into extra time, where England advanced 3-2 on a penalty kick by Reinkinger and Cameroon was eliminated.
