Therefore, although the 2019 season was very difficult for Tianjin Tianhai, under the leadership of Li Weifeng, they still completed the relegation task.
However, going into the 2020 season, Tianhai FC was eventually announced to be dissolved before the start of the league due to the delay in the approval of the access qualification. In fact, Tianjin Tianhai did not need to be dissolved and could have remained in the Chinese Super League. However, a Chinese club colluded with Liu Yi, then Secretary General of the Football Association, who wanted to enter the Super League as soon as possible, and "killed" Tianjin Tianhai through dishonorable means.
It is reported that Liu Yi, after receiving "benefits" from the club, utilized his rights to carry out a series of operations in the Football Association. First of all, in the approval process of Vantone Group's acquisition of Tianhai Club, he denied that Vantone Group was qualified to acquire Tianjin Tianhai.
After that, when approving the access qualification of the clubs in the Chinese Super League, he did not pass the access qualification of Tianhai FC due to the lack of funds of Tianhai FC, which made the Vantone Group lose the last patience and give up the plan of acquiring Tianhai FC. Finally, Tianhai FC officially announced its dissolution in May 2020 under pressure.
China's first division clubs also got what they wanted. After the dissolution of the Tianhai club, he was promoted to the Chinese Super League as a substitute and had a good time that season. It is also worth noting that the club's general manager was fired by Tianjin Quanjian that year. After arriving at the club, he wantonly poached Tianhai players to the team, one of whom was a national soccer goalkeeper. Due to the involvement of Li Tie case, both were taken away by the relevant departments for investigation.
Liu Yi also got a lot of benefits as he helped this Chinese club to succeed in the promotion. Through the operation of the foreign aid transfer, this club transferred the welfare fees to the accounts of Liu Yi and another player agent.
In addition, Liu Yi extended a greedy hand to the national team. He has worked with several player agents to earn large brokerage fees by running non-blood naturalized players into the national team. However, these naturalized players were far less brave in the national team than in the league, which led to the early elimination of the national team from last year's world qualifiers.
