In 1997, Poriu came to China for the first time to join Henan Jianye, together with his compatriots Iulian and Andrei Cuzzi, known as the "Romanian Three Musketeers", set off the "Eastern European cyclone" in Chinese soccer at that time, and became a story in the history of Henan soccer. He played for Henan Jianye for two seasons. After two seasons with Henan Jianye, Poriu returned to Romania and was selected for the national team. 2004 saw Poriu rejoin Henan Jianye, but returned to Romania half a year later and retired in 2011. After that, Poriu received a coaching certificate from UEFA and became a professional coach.In 2016, Poriu came to Zhengzhou No. 9 High School as a coach.

During his time as a player, Polau played twice for Henan Jianye. After retiring from playing, Pohlau coached at the Henan School Football Club's ladder team all year round, quietly working for the development of school soccer in Henan.In 2019, Pohlau, who received a European professional soccer coaching certificate, began coaching Jianye U19.

Petrolu is currently known to be in ninth place in the Romanian First Division, having lost four games in the last five rounds. Especially entering 2023, Petrolu has lost three consecutive matches in the Romanian First Division, 0 away on February 6: after the loss to Botosani, the music department decided to change the coach, and Poriu was ordered to take over as coach.
