According to the Daily News, most of the Chinese Super League clubs are now optimistic about their prospects for registration access, but three clubs in Guangzhou, Dalian and Shenzhen are still facing many problems.
The report said that January 31 was the deadline previously set by the CFA to clear up salary arrears. Currently, the situation is not good for Guangzhou, Dalian and Shenzhen clubs. Henan Songshan Longmen still owes wages, but it is still possible to solve the problem, and the other clubs are relatively quick to take relevant actions.
Due to the CFA's attitude of "no shortage, no abundance" for registration access, the Chinese Super League may be downsized back to 16 teams in the new season, but this is only one of the current plans. The number of teams in the new season will have to wait for an official announcement.
According to media reports, over the past few seasons, Chinese Super League clubs have been in massive wage arrears and have been repeatedly told to FIFA that the clubs have repeatedly lost their cases, which has had a significant negative impact on the brand value and reputation of the league as a whole. The good news is that the CFA and the CFL Preparatory Group's efforts to clear up wage arrears have achieved initial results.
