On the afternoon of December 23, Beijing Guoan will challenge Guangzhou on the road in the 32nd round of the 2022 Chinese Super League. The team has recently reshuffled its lineup, with coach Stanley giving more young players a chance to play, and Guoan even beat Hebei and Changchun Yatai to make it two wins in a row. As Guoan is currently sixth in the table with no hope of winning the title and avoiding relegation, Stanley will use the remaining three rounds to train new players.

In the 31st round of the Chinese Super League (CSL), Guoan easily defeated Changchun Yatai 3-0, who were playing with young players. Considering the 4-0 win over Hebei in the previous round, Guoan recently won twice in a row and returned to sixth place in the table. Currently, only four points separate Guoan from third-placed Zhejiang. Guoan coach Stanley said, "Despite the hopelessness of the title race, the team's goal is always to give their best in every game."

Before the two consecutive victories, Guoan lost to Zhejiang and Dalian, and the team was at a low point. Stanley adjusted the lineup in time, giving players like Ruan Qilong and Wang Ziming a chance to start. In addition, both Hebei and Yatai lacked starters. Guoan has the advantage in terms of strength. He won two matches, scoring seven goals and his opponents zero. Ruan Qilong and Wang Ziming played well and both scored goals.

Of the two wins, Stanley said, "The matches were a little bit special and the opponents' lineups have changed a lot. We had to battle against youth. It's rare, but it also requires us to create chances to control the game."

In his pre-match interview, Stanley admitted to having been asked what the team's next goal would be, given that Guiao has no hope of winning the title and no worries about relegation this season. "I think our goal is always to win every game and get as good a result as possible. At the same time, give more opportunities to the young players."
