Beijing Guoan easily beat Changchun Yatai, a team with young players, 3-0 in the 31st round of the Chinese Super League on December 15th. Calculating the 4-0 win over Hebei in the previous round, Guoan recently won two consecutive matches to rank sixth. Currently, only four points separate Guoan from third-ranked Zhejiang. Guoan head coach Stanley said, "Although there is no hope of winning the championship, the team's goal is always to fight for every game."

Before two consecutive victories, Guoan lost to Zhejiang and Dalian and the team was at a low point. Fortunately, with Hebei and Yatai both missing key players, Guoan had the advantage of strength with two big wins, seven goals and zero opponents.

Stanley said, "The game was a bit of a unique situation in that the opponent's lineup changed a lot and we had to play against a young army. This is a rare situation, but it also requires us to create chances to control the game in order to win."

Stanley confessed that in a pre-match interview, he was asked: Guoan has no hope of winning the title this season, and there are no worries about relegation. What is the team's next goal? "I think our goal is always to win every game and get better results as much as possible. At the same time, give more opportunities to the young players."
