On November 30, the 28th round of the Chinese Super League ended with a number of key matches. Taishan and Wuhan both lost, Zhejiang beat Guoan, Seaport lost their third consecutive game, and there were two advancing horse teams in the AFC Champions League.
The first place in the Chinese Super League table is still the promotion horse Wuhan Sanzhen. Although they lost to Changchun Yatai this round, they are still the leader of the Chinese Super League with 21 wins, 2 draws and 5 losses, scoring 79 goals and conceding 25. Behind Wuhan Sanzhen, Shandong Luneng have the same record as Wuhan Sanzhen, with 21 wins, 2 draws and 5 losses. However, with 68 goals scored and 24 conceded, the team is second in the table on goal difference.
Against Cangzhou Lions, Taishan was beaten by Jose Kante who scored two goals in the first half. Although Wu Xinghan pulled a goal back in the second half, Kante's long range shot opened the gap again. A last-minute penalty shot from Cressan was no longer helpful, and Taishan lost 2-3. In this game, Cangzhou Lions took 4 shots on goal and scored 3 goals, which was very efficient in scoring.
Taishan have lost two of their last three matches, giving Wuhan Three Town the chance to dominate the table at a later kick-off. Wuhan Three Town have not shown full dominance at home this season against Changchun Yatai, who have a mediocre record. Although they came back from a two-goal deficit to equalize at one point, a last-minute ould goal left Wuhan Three Town without a point. It is worth mentioning that Sanzhen's core, Stancho, had his hand around Eric's neck and head-butted his opponent. Although the referee on duty did not impose any penalty, there is a possibility of additional punishment after the match, and it all depends on how the CFA handles the situation.
Another highlight of the round was the third place. Zhejiang met Beijing Guoan with 49 points before the match. In the first half, Yu Dabao scored an offside goal and Mu Xiekui assisted Evolo's goal; in the second half, Frank scored and Wang Ziming scored an offside goal. At the end of the match, Zhejiang defeated Beijing Guoan 2-0, ushering in a fourth consecutive win. In the other match, Shanghai Port, who suffered back-to-back defeats, played against Henan Songshan Longmen. In the first half, Karanga took the lead and Wu Lei equalized; in the second half, Huang Zichang's header again exceeded the score, and Ke Zhao came on as a substitute and pushed an empty goal with a single shot to seal the win. In the end, Henan defeated Harbor 3-1 in a row.
After two strong conversations, Zhejiang holds third place alone and is a strong contender for the AFC Champions League play-offs. Counting the three towns of Wuhan that lead the table, it is not rare for the three promoted horses in the AFC Champions League to occupy two seats alone.
In the next round, Taishan continues to host Shenzhen and Wuhan Sanzhen will challenge Cangzhou Lions on the road.
