On the evening of the 30th, Beijing Guoan ushered in the 28th round of the Chinese Super League against Zhejiang. In the end, the team lost 0-2, the seventh loss of the season and the second league loss since Stanley coached the team. With the loss, Guoan missed out on a direct rivalry and are still in the upper reaches of the table.

Before this game, Zhejiang was temporarily ahead of Guoan in third place in the table due to goal difference, and Guoan was in fifth place, but the two teams had practically the same number of points. Guoan had a good chance in the fourth minute of the match, but unfortunately Zhang Xizhe's left-footed shot went wide of the goal and failed to score. In the following game, Guoan took the initiative. Although Yu Dabao scored a defiant goal in the 35th minute, offside was unfortunately not the first goal. Before halftime, Zhejiang took advantage of a counterattack and Evolo finished the goal to take a 1-0 lead.

After the change of sides and fighting again, Guoan made a passive substitution, replacing Nigerian foreigner Adebenelo, who was injured before the end of the half, with Wang Ziming. In the 56th minute of the match, Kang Xiangyou had a great one-on-one chance. Unfortunately, the South Korean's weak shot failed to open the opponent's door. However, the missed opportunity was soon punished by Guoan. Zhejiang captain Frank's skillful shot helped his team extend their lead to 2-0, which happened in the 62nd minute of the match.

At the end of the final 90 minutes of play, Guoan lost 0-2, missing their best chance to overtake their direct rivals at the top of the table. It was also the second league game the team lost since Stanley took over, after the team lost 0-2 to Wuhan Sanzhen. It is worth noting that Zhejiang was Stanley's first opponent after taking over the team, when Guoan drew 2-2 in the Sept. 6 match.
