Following Barcelona's 1-0 home win over Getafe, which made it seven consecutive La Liga victories, Barcelona center back Kubasi spoke to the media and shared his thoughts on the game, the team's performance and his teammates.
Kubasi couldn't hide his joy at the team's current seven-game winning streak: "This league has gotten off to a fantastic start, and we can say that it's been exceptionally good. We have put in a great deal of effort to achieve this result and we will continue to work hard to keep it up and bring more victories to our fans."
Speaking about the game, Kubasi said: "Getafe has always been a strong defensive team and they are very difficult to break down. Today we were able to score the first goal and keep the score, these three points are crucial for us. During the game we were always on our toes because Getafe were waiting for us to make a mistake. We had to stay focused and be very reliable on the defensive end to do that."
Of his partner Inigo Martinez, Kubasi spoke highly of him, "He's someone who helps me a lot on and off the field. Defending with him makes me feel very at ease, we work with each other, we support each other, and I think we work very well together."
In addition, Kubasi spoke about the team's goalkeeping position: "Our goal is always to shut out our opponents, because goals will always come. It's a shame for us that Mark (ter Stegen) is out, but we're happy that Iñaki is able to play and do well. We have full confidence in Iñaki, the whole team will support him and hopefully he will continue to play well in the upcoming games."
