In an exciting matchup in the third round of the English League Cup, Liverpool hosted West Ham United and ended up winning 5-1, showing great offensive firepower. In the first half, the game was full of suspense and twists. Ince had the chance to open the scoring for Liverpool, but his goal was disallowed due to offside. West Ham United then scored an unexpected goal in a chaotic situation, when Koh Endo's clearance accidentally hit Kwaanza and bounced into the goal, giving the visitors the lead. However, Liverpool responded quickly, with Junior Chiesa's overhead kick earning him a corner, which Wakata capitalized on to add the equalizer.

In the second half, Liverpool's offense was even more fierce. Jones made it 2-1 when he assisted Jota's second goal of the game, then McAllister's low shot was parried by West Ham United's keeper, but Salah added the second goal to extend the lead to two goals. However, the game was not out of reach as West Ham's Alvarez was sent off for accumulating two yellow cards, adding to the visitors' woes.

Despite the numerical disadvantage, West Ham United did not give up the resistance, but Liverpool's offense was too strong to resist. McAllister's long-distance shot hit the post and nearly added another goal. Nunez then assisted Gakpo to add another goal for Liverpool. Just 3 minutes later, Gakopo scored again, completing a double to make the score 5-1. In the end, Liverpool progressed to the next round with a resounding victory thanks to Wakita's second goal and Gakopo's double, as well as Salah's and Gakopo's goals.
