In the first round of the new season's UEFA Cup, Manchester United sat at home but unexpectedly shook hands with the visiting Twente team 1-1, failing to get all three points. After the match, United's midfielder Eriksen was interviewed by TNT Sports, expressing his mixed feelings about the draw.

Speaking about the result of the game, Eriksson could not hide his disappointment: "As a member of the team, most of us are very disappointed. We wanted to get a better result in this game, but unfortunately the draw was not enough for us. It was clear from the course of the game that Twente were more hungry for a win, and they had the fight and determination that we lacked. Although I personally scored a goal in the game, it was a shame that I couldn't help the team win the game."

Talking about the atmosphere in the locker room, Eriksson revealed the seriousness of the team's atmosphere: "After the game, the atmosphere in the locker room was very serious. Everyone was silently looking at themselves and thinking about what they could have done better in the game. We are all professional players and know how to adjust our mindset when we lose or fail to meet expectations. Although we didn't lose the game, the feeling of not getting what we wanted felt like a loss. We will use this opportunity to learn from it and be better prepared for the upcoming games."
