On the eve of Arsenal's upcoming EFL Cup third-round home match against Bolton Wanderers, the team's central midfielder, Ödgörn, published an article through the club's official website's column, both sharing his injury progress and sending sincere encouragement to his teammates who are about to take the field.
Ödgörn began by talking about his injury, "It's been a while since I last wrote a game day column. In that time, I've mainly focused on my ankle recovery. The sprain was quite serious and was accompanied by some ligament damage, but that's part of soccer and I have to learn to accept it and get over it. Fortunately, I'm making progress every day and feeling more and more positive. I'm training hard at the Sobha Realty Training Center, being careful to both avoid overdoing it and making sure I'm able to get back on the field as soon and as healthy as possible."
He further said, "Injuries are a challenge for me because I have been relatively lucky in the past and rarely got injured. But this sprain made me realize that there is no absolute safety on the soccer field. Even though the way the injury came about was unfortunate for me, I am also thankful that it wasn't worse. The pain scared me for a while, but the professionalism and timely intervention of the medical team gave me hope."
Speaking about the recovery time and the return plan, Ödgörn was both cautious and optimistic: "I am aware that the recovery process requires patience and time. The medical team has told me that it is still difficult to determine the exact duration of my absence. But I will follow the doctor's advice and rest to ensure that I get the best possible treatment for my injury. At the same time, I will also strengthen my strength training to be fully prepared for my return."
Despite his inability to play, Odego is confident about the team's future: "Tonight's game will be a good opportunity for some of our players and youngsters who need game time to show what they can do. The EFL Cup is another stage for us to fight for honors and we are eager to win every trophy. Every game is a test of our strength and depth, and I'm sure my teammates will give their best to show the spirit and fighting spirit of Arsenal."
In the end, Odego issued a pep talk to the team: "Wherever I am, my heart is always with the team. I will support you and cheer for you in another way. Let's work together to win more victories and honors for Arsenal!"
