In the tough time of City's big midfielder Rodney's absence due to injury, teammate Nunes showed great team spirit and self-confidence in his interview with the media. He made it clear that although Rodri's absence is a huge loss for the team, every player in the City squad will do their best to fill the void together.
Nunes began by talking about his versatile attributes, "At Wolves I played more as a winger; at Manchester City last year I was more often seen in the number 10 position; and during my time with Sporting Portugal I was always one of the double backs. This experience has made me very comfortable in a variety of positions, which I believe will help me to integrate and play quickly when the team needs me."
He further emphasized the power of the team, "Every time the coach puts me on the field, I do my best to help the team. But I also know that we have a lot of good players in the team who are equally prepared and ready to contribute to the team. At Manchester City, we are a united whole and the absence of any one player will not stop us."
Nunes is confident about his team's performance in adversity: "We have proved that when the team is facing difficulties and a player is missing, other players can always step up and show great levels of performance. Last year, in the absence of important players such as Harland and De Bruyne, we still won the title. This year, I'm sure we'll continue with that spirit and perform just as well no matter what the challenge."
