Derrick Rose, nicknamed "Rose of the Wind", is an American basketball player. Born in Chicago, USA, he plays point guard.
Rose officially became the first draft pick in Chicago Bulls history in the 2008 NBA Draft. He was selected as the NBA Rookie of the Year, was named to the first team of the NBA Rookie of the Year, and was the first rookie player to win the Skills Challenge. Three NBA All-Star Games, two of which he was selected as a starter.
In the 2010-11 season, at the age of 22, Rose became the youngest Most Valuable Player in NBA history and was named to the NBA's First Team of the Year.In 2012, the league established a Rose Clause to reward those new players. He won the gold medal at the 2010 World Basketball Championships and the Men's Basketball World Cup in 2014.
