Derrick Rose was signed by his hometown Chicago Bulls as a 2008 draft pick. In his first year of his career Rose showed his amazing ability to average 16.8 points and 6.3 assists, earning him awards such as Rookie of the Year and Best Rookie Lineup. The following year Rose continued to improve and was named to the NBA All-Star Game, becoming the first Bulls player to be named to the All-Star Game since Michael Jordan in 1998.
In December 2011, Rose signed a five-year, $94.8 million contract with the Bulls. Rose was selected to play in the Star Game again this season. The Bulls once again had the best record in the league.
In 2016, the Chicago Bulls traded Rose to the New York Knicks.
