What does FIFA 100 refer to?
The FIFA 100, is a list of the 125 greatest living players in history, announced at a commemorative event in London on March 4, 2004, to mark the 100th anniversary of the founding of FIFA. The so-called 100 in the list refers to the 100th anniversary commemoration, not the number of names on the list. The list was drawn up by the famous Brazilian footballer Pele. The list includes 123 male players and two female players (Michelle, Eccles and Mia, Ham). At the time the list was published, there were 50 active players and 75 retired players.
