Stuttgart hosted the powerful Borussia Dortmund in a key match of the 4th round of the German top league. However, the match went beyond all expectations, as Stuttgart dealt Dortmund a heavy blow on the road with a 5-1 victory.

Stuttgart got off to a fantastic start just four minutes into the game, capitalizing on Dortmund's lack of stability with a flick on by Ondorf in the penalty area. The goal also boosted the morale of Stuttgart's players, who began to take control of the game with more confidence.
