Eintracht Frankfurt full name Eintracht Frankfurt Harmonie Football AG is a soccer club based in Frankfurt, Germany, founded on March 8, 1899, and is one of the founding members of the German Football League First Division.
On March 8, 1899, the "Frankfurter Fußball-Club Viktoria von 1899" was founded as the predecessor of the Frankfurt team. In the same year, the "Frankfurter Fußball-Club Kickers von 1899" was founded. The two merged in May 1911 to become Frankfurter FV (Kickers-Viktoria), and in 1920 joined the gymnastics club Frankfurter Turngemeinde von 1861 to become TuS Eintracht Frankfurt von 1861.
After many years of ups and downs, the name of the Frankfurt soccer club was finally changed in 1927 to "Sportgemeinde Eintracht Frankfurt (F.F.V) von 1899", i.e., the Frankfurt 1899 Sports League, or F.F.V 1899 for short.

Frankfurt won the DFB Cup in 1974, 1975, 1981, 1988 and 2018. They won the European Cup in 1980, beating another German team, Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Frankfurt's most recent good result in the cup was beating Bayern Munich in the 2018 DFB Cup final.
In the 2021-22 season, Eintracht Frankfurt won the 2022 Europa League final against Rangers 5-4 on penalties to win the Europa League title again after 42 years.
