In the 6th round of EPL match on September 28th, Everton won the match against Crystal Palace with a score of 2-1, and gained three valuable points. After the match, Everton's manager Dyche accepted the media's interview and made an in-depth analysis and comment on the match.
Dyche began by talking about the decision to reposition McNeil and his performance, "We decided to change McNeil's position because he has the ability to move around in the midfield and on the wings. At the beginning of the season we had some difficulties, so we tried to give him a bigger role in his new position. This adjustment proved to be very successful. McNeil showed his talent, especially his excellent left-foot technique and keen eye for goal. He was in the right place twice and scored two crucial goals. His long range shots were calm and powerful and his finishing was excellent."
Dyche was highly complimentary of his players' performance, "I am overjoyed for my players, who showed resilience and relentless hard work during the game. We didn't give up when we were behind in the scoreline, but we came together as a team and turned the situation around. This type of spirit is what we have been striving for and was the key to us being able to come out on top."
Speaking about the nerves during the game, Dyche was honest: "Of course I was nervous, especially when we hadn't yet secured our first win of the season. going 0-1 down made for an awkward atmosphere at the stadium, but I was confident that my players would be able to get through it. I encouraged them in the second half to be the ones to make the difference and they did. Everyone played their part and together they contributed to the comeback win."
Dyche also made special mention of the team's performance in set pieces: "We did very well in set pieces, which was an important factor in turning the game around for us. The players showed excellent awareness and cooperation in both defense and offense. This team spirit and tacit understanding is the foundation for us to continue to achieve good results in the future."
Finally, Dyche looked ahead to the team's future: "Of course, we still have a lot of work to do, but today's win is a new start for us. We will continue to train hard, improve our technical and tactical skills, and be well prepared for the upcoming matches. I believe that as long as we keep this fighting spirit and team spirit, we will be able to achieve better results in the Premier League."
