Nottingham Forest went down 0-1 at home to Fulham in a Premier League clash, with Murillo's foul on Andreas Pereira in the box the turning point in the match, as Fulham sealed the win with a penalty. After the game, Forest boss Nuno expressed his views on the referee's decision and reflected on his team's performance in his match of the day interview.
Nuno first expressed his respect for the referee's work, but also expressed his dissatisfaction with some of the calls. He mentioned that during the match, Fulham also committed a suspected foul in their penalty area, but the referee did not look back or give a corresponding penalty. Nuno emphasized that he did not want to blame the referees too much, but only hoped that the referees could perform their work more fairly and accurately to provide a fair competition environment for the players.
Speaking about the specific penalty controversies, Nuno referred to the Avonui and Eranga situations, arguing that the calls were very unfavorable to Forest. He said that although the referees had checked and assessed the situation, their opinion was not in line with Forest's. Nuno hopes that in future matches the referee's decisions will be more accurate and fair so that the players can focus on the game itself.
As well as questioning the refereeing decisions, Nuno also reflected on his team's performance. He felt that Forest did not play as well as they should have in the first half of the game, failing to seize the pace and initiative of the game. Although the game was evenly matched for a while, a goal conceded in the second half completely changed the course of the game. Nuno said the team lost control of the game after conceding the goal, and the players worked hard and hoped for a good result, but in the end it was not to be.
Despite his frustration and disappointment with the result, Nuno emphasized that Forest will move on. He said that the team needs to learn from this game, seriously summarize their experiences and shortcomings, and improve on them in future matches. At the same time, he also called on the players to maintain a positive mindset and confidence in their ability and potential to achieve better results for the team.
