In the 5th round of Bundesliga, Bayern Munich and Leverkusen shook hands with 1-1 in a marquee match. After the match, Bayern manager Kompany attended the press conference and expressed his views on the match and the next Champions League matches.

Kompany said he was not surprised by the way Leverkusen defended. He analyzed, "Leverkusen is a strong team and their strength lies in their ability to flexibly adjust their tactics according to the game situation. They are able to put great pressure on their opponents when they need to, but they can also show great performance on the defensive end. We did a lot of things right in this game, but it's a shame we didn't capitalize on more chances in front of goal. However, I still think my team played well and we showed the strength and fighting spirit we deserve."

When asked about his next Champions League opponent Aston Villa, Kompany appeared both cautious and expectant. He confessed, "So far, my attention has been fully focused on the Bundesliga, especially this match against Leverkusen. But starting tonight, we will officially enter the preparation phase for the Champions League. Aston Villa is a respectable opponent, and even though they haven't appeared in the Champions League for a long time, it doesn't mean they will give up easily. On the contrary, I'm sure they'll give it their all in their quest to make a difference in the Champions League. It will be a special game and a great feast for our fans. I am looking forward to the match against Aston Villa and am confident that my team will be ready for the new challenge."
