According to the latest reports from renowned transfer expert Romano in his Insight Offside column, Chelsea FC are still keeping a close eye on Nigerian striker Ousmane at the moment, however, despite the high level of interest, Chelsea have not initiated any substantial negotiations for his transfer.
Romano elaborated on Osmeen's transfer in his column, "After all the craziness of the transfer market this summer, rumors still abound about Osmeen's future. Despite being closely watched by a number of clubs, including Chelsea, he ended up making a surprise move to Galatasaray."
In response to recent reports that Osmeen could move to Chelsea for £40 million in January, Romano clarified, "I have been consulted about this news and it is claimed that Chelsea are actively pushing for the deal behind the scenes. However, I can categorically say that there are no new developments regarding the transfer of Osmeen at this time. As I have emphasized many times, Chelsea do remain keenly interested in the player and they appreciate his abilities, but as Galatasaray have already paid a large fee for the loan of Osmeen, Chelsea are not entering into any negotiations at the moment so as not to cause disrespect to Galatasaray."
