In the 6th round of EPL match, Everton reversed Crystal Palace with 2-1 at home and successfully got the first win of this season's EPL. After the match, Everton manager Dyche was interviewed by the media and shared his thoughts on the reversal victory.
Dyche said, "I'm happy the team was able to get this win. Although we have played better this season, we have not been winning. So it was vital for us to get a win." He referred to the 1-0 lead Crystal Palace took in the first half and emphasized that the team must correct such mistakes. According to Dyche, the team knows that they can change the situation by substituting the right players.
The second half saw a marked improvement in Everton's performance, and Dyche praised, "We played well in the second half and controlled the game well." He mentioned that in the closing stages of the game Everton "more or less silenced their opponents and succeeded in ending the game." The players were delighted with the victory and Dyche believes that the team must find a way to win.
Dyche added that Everton showed bravery in this game, creating two quality chances and looking solid in defense. He emphasized that the team had to build such a winning mentality and that it was a turnaround as the team was previously questioned for not being able to turn things around, but in this game they did.
Additionally, Dyche touched on the performance of Brathwaite, saying that he thought the player was very good last season, and while he may not be at his sharpest at the moment, he has done well.
