In the 6th round of the English Premier League, Manchester United lost to Tottenham Hotspur 0-3 at home. After the match, United manager Jens Ten Hagar was interviewed by Sky Sports and gave an in-depth reflection on the match.

Ten Hagar began by commenting on the start of the game: "The game started very badly, with Tottenham dominating from the start. We made a lot of mistakes in possession that we shouldn't have made, couldn't get away from the opposition effectively and made bad decisions. These mistakes put us in a passive position."

On the red card in the game, Ten Hagar expressed his displeasure: "I don't think it was a red card. The score was only 1-0 and we still had a chance to equalize. The red card had a big impact on the game and made the situation more difficult for us."

Ten Hagar also pointed out the problems with his team's performance in the first half: "We played very poorly in the first half, and it should never have happened that one player was able to break through our entire team with the ball and assist the goal. I made it clear before the game how we should defend, but we lost confidence in the game. We have to do better and all the players know that."

Ten Hagar further emphasized the team's lack of discipline and ball control: "We lacked discipline and looked overly nervous in possession. This resulted in our inability to effectively control the pace of the game and create threatening attacking opportunities. We must improve in this area."

On the game ahead, Ten Hagar said, "Every day is a new day and I will tell the players that we have to learn from this loss and do things better. There are a lot of things we can improve on in terms of ball control. There were situations where we could have controlled the ball and found teammates who were in open positions, but unfortunately, we didn't do that."

Finally, Ten Hag concluded, "After such a loss, I don't want to talk too much about progress. We now have to deal with this unfavorable situation and adjust as quickly as possible to be ready for the next games."
