After beating Lecce 3-0 at home in the 6th round of Serie A, Milan defender Emerson Aparecido spoke to the club's official TV channel to share his thoughts on the game, the current state of the team and the upcoming Champions League matches.
Commenting on the win, Emerson said, "Winning the derby was of course very important, but tonight's win was just as significant. We know we can't let up after the derby and must continue our growth path and keep the winning streak going." His words revealed the Milan team's desire for victory and their firm confidence in the future.
When asked about his team's feelings about topping the league table, Emerson appeared both humble and motivated: "It's too early to talk about the final standings, but we do enjoy this temporary first place very much. It's a recognition of our past efforts and an incentive for the future. We will continue to work hard for more growth and progress in the league."
Speaking about the upcoming Champions League, Emerson's eyes twinkled with anticipation: "I've only played in the Champions League once, but the experience was unforgettable. I'm eager to stand in the Champions League again and even more eager to try to win it. We'll face a strong team in Leverkusen on Tuesday and it will be a tough game. But we are well prepared and we will give our best and try to bring home the three points."
