In an exclusive interview with Rede98, AC Milan defender Emerson looks back on his team's 3-0 win over Lecce and shares his experiences growing up in Milan and his expectations for the Champions League.

Emerson began by expressing a strong belief in his own abilities, "I have always believed in myself and even though I changed countries and leagues, I did face some challenges when I first arrived, but I know how to tap into and cash in on my potential." He admits that the process of adapting to a new environment has not been easy, but it is these experiences that have made him more resilient and clearer about his direction.

For the external evaluation and comments, Emerson showed a more than normal calm and confidence: "When I first joined Milan, I did hear a lot of different voices, but to be honest, I never really cared about them. Because I know that the most important thing is what I can bring to the club, not what others think of me." He emphasized that he always focuses on improving himself and quietly works hard just to show the best of himself on the pitch.

Talking about the feeling of playing the Champions League with Milan, Emerson couldn't hide his excitement: "Playing the Champions League with Milan is simply a fantastic game. When I stood at the San Siro as a rival to the Red and Black, I already felt the magical atmosphere and the unrivaled passion of the fans. Now, as a member of Milan, I feel incredibly proud and happy to be able to experience this glory and passion for myself."

Looking ahead, Emerson said he still has a lot of room for improvement: "Although I'm not at my best yet, I believe that as long as I maintain this attitude of continuous improvement, I will be able to become stronger. I look forward to creating more moments of glory with Milan, both in Serie A and the Champions League."
