In the hit drama rivalry, Yan plays the role of
national security
Captain Duan Yingjiu has different faces. When she is undercover, she is a street gangster with a "cracked" look; when she is in uniform, she is a strict and serious woman.
national security
She is a captain who sweeps the streets and follows people on missions with decisiveness; in life, she is an ordinary middle-aged woman who faces a lot of household chores. With her excellent acting skills, Yan Bingyan portrays Duan Yingjiu in a very distinctive way, described by netizens as "even her hair can act."
Among the TV rivals, Yan played

Captain Duan meets Nine.
Dancer Yan Biyan, in fact, is a mistake into the line of actors. 1994, she is still a dancer in the Beijing Song and Dance Troupe, the movie Chasing Coyotes to find actors, although she knows nothing about filming, but thought she could dilly-dally with the round-trip train ticket to visit her father who works in Shenzhen, agreed to audition, and from then on there is more of an actor's identity. Since then, she has received "double recognition" in terms of reputation and popularity in such works as the TV series Gan Nineteen Sisters Red Cross Squad. In the youthful idol image to show people after the teenage years, Yan Biyan encountered the most brutal changes in life, her mother was sick, she therefore suspended work to accompany her mother for eight years, it is also the eight years of experience, let her sigh, "life did not give me the opportunity to expand."
After getting back to work, in 2012, Yan Bingyan delivered a 10,000-arrow movie, through which she took home eight best actress awards at home and abroad.
In 2012, a movie Ten Thousand Arrows through the Heart allowed Yan to collect several Best Actress awards.
Yan Biyan is known in the industry for her "low output" because "reading scripts doesn't make my sweat pores explode." She is so picky about scripts that she dislikes herself for being "pretentious": she didn't take a single play in 2016, one each in 2017 and 2018, and another in 2019, until she took on a rival role in 2000. What did she do all year without taking a movie, you ask? She smiles and says, "Reading scripts."
Opponents -
Don't talk about textbook acting. It makes me blush.
Duan Yingjiu in the TV series opponent, on the old and the young, family matters have no time to worry about, her eyes only work, Yan Binyan called it "octopus-like life". In her view, Duan Yingjiu is actually an ordinary middle-aged woman, "she is not a superwoman, but did a not ordinary occupation, shoulders carrying the national gate, the lives of comrades, the country and the people's security, a great responsibility. Coupled with her character in the more serious, meticulous, one-stringed, resulting in her can only take care of the work, neglecting to take care of the family, her husband and their children. Her family is her shortcoming, she can't do both inside and outside. If I were a man, I wouldn't marry her." Yan said that the real-life
national security
soldiers, the actual living conditions are actually worse than ever in the play, "one should really pay tribute to the
national security
Soldiers, and their families, salute them for being so difficult."
In the play, Yan Bingyan chase, fight, arrest and other action scenes are many, she deliberately long waist hair cut short. In addition, in order to be more close to the real, almost the entire face out of the camera, "Duan Ying Jiu which have time to paint eyebrows, can wash your face, brush your teeth is good. Modern machine clarity is so high, even with light makeup the audience can also be seen, so directly face."
After deciding to take on a role, Yan will spend a long time to prepare. In the drama, Duan Yingjiu is a good fighter and can do grappling, so Yan also strengthened her fitness, practiced iron lifting, and hired a combat coach to practice professional combat. Many viewers will think that Yan Bingyan is "fat" in the drama, because she wants to be closer to the character, "I'm only 1.63 meters tall, and if I'm thinner, I'll be able to play
national security
The captain's credibility would be too low, so I want to practice tendon meat, not thin arms and legs." Yan Bianyan less than 100 pounds before entering the group, two months to train into a body of tendon meat, unlikely, halfway through the experience of changing coaches. Her claim to fitness is that the audience has to believe that she can take down a big man, do not laugh, the coach suggested that she eat a little stronger, look sturdy. "In fact, I entered the group when 106 pounds is okay, but as soon as the start of filming can not be practiced, before every day to eat the coach are strict control of carbohydrates, sugar, on the set can not do. Suddenly stop, eat crew boxed lunch every day, all of a sudden fat. But in the play, Duan Yingjiu has diabetes, so the late fat kinda like a diabetic patient." Yan Bingyan also does not mind the outside world's comments on her body shape and appearance, "It is precisely because you play the role of vivid, watching more people, people will have comments. If the acting is painless, no one cares if you are fat or thin."
In the confrontation, Yan Bianyan was veiled throughout and responded generously to the audience's comments about her body shape in the interview.
Among the audience, many of them said that Yan Biyan's life-like performance showed "textbook acting skills". In response, she said, "Don't keep saying textbook acting, I blush when I say that." She said that she is just an amateur, an ordinary actor, "I am a very stupid actor, belonging to the kind of [people] who try to capture their true inner feelings as much as possible. It's more direct, there's no method or technique."
No commercials, no variety shows
--"Actors must endure loneliness."
Whether it's the TV series Gan Nineteen Sisters or the Red Cross Squad, Yan Biyan's interpretation of the stubborn, beautiful young girl in her flower season, she said, when she was young, she was only "good-looking", and she didn't have too much experience of love and affection in acting, "Actors have a deeper understanding of their roles when they're older and more experienced. The actor will have a deeper understanding of the role only when he is older and has more experience, which is something you can't achieve when you are young, even if you are good-looking and talented."
Yan Binyan started from a high point, from 1998 when she starred in the TV drama Red Cross Squadron and won the Best Supporting Actress Award at the Chinese TV Golden Eagle Awards, to 2007 when she starred in the movie Love's Teeth and won the Best Actress Award at the Golden Rooster Awards, as well as a number of other honors such as Golden Eagle Awards, Feitian Awards, Huading Awards, and Golden Phoenix Awards, etc. Her 2012 film, "Ten Thousand Arrows Through the Heart," was one of Yan Binyan's most representative works, for which she won eight Best Actress awards, at both domestic and international levels. She won eight Best Actress awards at home and abroad.
Yen won the Best Actress at the Golden Rooster Awards for her movie Love's Teeth.
In Ten Thousand Arrows Through the Heart, Yan Bingyan plays Li Baoli, who makes a living by picking flatbreads.
After Ten Thousand Arrows, the number of Yan Biyan's works has decreased rather than increased, and she revealed the reason in an interview: she is a person who will be more cautious when she receives praise, and although there are not many works, every one of them is her favorite. Many middle-aged actresses are facing "age panic", which is not a problem for Yan Biyan, "Most of the actors who feel this way are doing so because of their heavy workload. And my output itself is very low. It's good to receive one drama a year, so I don't feel much. It's usually when I come across a good role that I take it. There's still money to spend and food to eat, so I don't panic, and other exposure isn't necessary, everyone is good at different points."
Yan Bingyan not only had a low output of movies, but also refused all variety shows and advertisements. After the Red Cross, some advertisers approached her, but she felt she couldn't say to the national audience, "This is good, want to eat", "can't open my mouth". She asked her company to push back all the advertisements and variety shows, and laughed that the boss of the company was her best friend, who could tolerate her year after year of not working, and often asked her if she had money to spend. Yan Bingyan said that she is not a person who can take care of both business and art, "I can only do one thing, and I can't reach the emotional, intellectual and physical strength. Then don't look at others to receive advertising, variety show unbalanced, you didn't choose that way, can't get (greater attention) is deserved. I wouldn't take a role for money, for an award, or some other condition. Sticking to a way that you think is right will get easier and easier."
In Yan's opinion, show business is the circle of fame and fortune, with applause, flowers, and money all too close at hand, which is why she feels that actors have to endure loneliness.
Really hear, really see, really feel
-- "Actors are more like psychiatrists."
Yan Bingyan's roles in the past have often been very "split". She has appeared in many author films with an underground atmosphere, as minor characters hovering on the fringe of society, as well as in many melodramatic films as officials, police officers, and other very dignified and positive images. In her opinion, experiencing the transformation between different types of roles is the joy of an actor. "I am interested in all types of characters and will try to analyze and understand all kinds of people. I think sometimes actors are more like psychiatrists who have to analyze the reasons why each person does things."
Asked about the trick to living the performance, Yan Bianyan said bluntly, "One of the simplest and most effective methods is: really listen, really watch, really feel." She said that at the initial stage, she would look back at the films she appeared in, because she could know where the problems were, such as being a Beijinger, she found that she could not speak clearly, so she consciously practiced her Mandarin with the news broadcasts. For example, when she realized that her speech was not clear, she consciously practiced her Mandarin with the news broadcasts. For example, when she danced and walked with her feet in eights, she would change this habitual movement as much as possible, "Acting is not innate, and the natural performance will be upgraded with the accumulation of experience. If you want as many viewers as possible to cry and laugh with you, then you need to do a lot of practicing."
Yen has appeared in the TV series Red Leaves on Faraway Mountain (above) and Borrowed Gun (below), gaining and losing weight for the roles.
Yan Bingyan has worked hard for every role: in the TV series Red Leaves on the Faraway Mountain, she played Wang Ying, the secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission in Nanjiang, Sichuan Province. Before filming, she went to the countryside and asked the people, "Do I look like Secretary Wang Ying to you?" The people said, "No, you're too skinny. Secretary Wang has a round face." Yan went back and gained 15 pounds. After the red leaves in the distant mountains, Yan Biyan acted in the TV series Lend a Gun, the cheongsam in Lend a Gun was done long before Yan Biyan gained weight, and she didn't expect to gain 15 pounds, and the cheongsam couldn't even touch the buttons. The director said, "No, the cheongsam will be redone. Yan Bingyan said she could lose weight, because the characters in the play would play the drums, and Yan had a week's preparation time, and she said she could even learn the drums and lose weight. Although the director secretly redid the cheongsam, Yan Binyan lost weight within a week.
[Life events]
Those eight years with my mom made her calmer.
In 1998, Gan Nineteen Sisters Red Cross Squad and other TV dramas were aired one after another, and Yan Biyan's career was bubbling up when her mother became seriously ill. Doctors predicted at the time that she only had three years left to live, so Yan Biyan paused her work to take care of her mother, and stayed with her for eight years. By chance, her next job came when the doctor was sure that her mother had no health problems for a while.
Because of her mother's illness, medical expenses are very high, Yan Biyan is not shooting, no financial resources, can only borrow with girlfriends, and then hid from his father that he went to a cameo to earn the honorarium, "my father at that time is still strange, said the cameo can also earn so much money."
Yan Bingyan and her mom have a typical mother-daughter rivalry. When she was a child, she grew up with her grandmother, then entered the Beijing Opera and Dance Troupe, fell in love early, and called her mom to tell her that she was in love, so she didn't have to worry about me. Mom was sick for a few years before the two gradually reconciled and became a normal mother and daughter. When she could hold her mom without embarrassment and could talk about any topic, Yan lost her mom.
Yen doesn't do a lot of theater, but she says that when she's not working she's also preparing for a movie.
In hindsight, those years made her calmer, "Life didn't give me inflated opportunities and possibilities, I felt jittery instead, and didn't do more good theater after I won the award."
She said that the days when she is not filming are also a process of preparing for her next movie, learning new skills by following the different roles she takes on. A friend once asked her, "What is your life like?" She smiled and said, "Work." "And when you're not working?" Yan snapped, "Preparing for work!"
Yan Bingyan laughed that she is a person with a very low tear point in life, often watching movies and crying until shaking, playing games will cry, when I was young, playing online games immortal sword and wonderland, that time she could not afford to buy a computer, playing at a friend's house, and the picture quality is not good, "in the middle of the night my friend woke up to the sound of my sobbing, where I cried 'Ling'er is dead! '."
Dialogue
New Beijing News: With the aura of "Best Actress" and not many roles suitable for you, do you worry that you will be drowned in some mediocre roles and not be seen by the audience?
Yan Bianyan:
No, I'm so "picky", at least in the sense that I don't think the roles I pick are mediocre. My production is low, so I usually take good roles only when I come across them. Speaking of not being seen by the audience, I do have a low production and I'm not very good at doing publicity. The company often says to me, "Do some publicity, you don't shoot during this time, let's go shoot street photography". I said: what is street photography? I don't even know. The staff said to me: Yan, before we board the plane, can you clean up a little bit so we can take some pictures? I said, "Why do you need to take pictures of me getting on the plane? I said, "Why should you take pictures of me getting on the plane? I'm not good at publicity outside of my work. But I've been doing what I'm supposed to be doing, and it's very singular, but that's what I've chosen to do. Life has given me so much more than I wanted and what I predicted, and I've been so lucky. I have been given so many honors and awards, and I deserve all the more to be worthy of all of it. You want to be worthy of all of this, or you have to do well to keep going to work.
NK: What do you do when you're not filming? What kind of hobbies do you have?
Yan Bianyan:
I'm usually actually pretty loose and free and have quite a bit to do. I like to grow flowers and plants, I like to keep fish. I also learn as many skills as I can. Every movie I do, I learn skills from the characters, which is very useful and interesting, and I also feel happy from the process. When I was filming Borrowed Gun, I learned to play the Peking Opera Drum, and when I saw a lot of costume dramas where the guqin was put in the wrong way and still played, I felt that I couldn't make that kind of mistake. Some things are just too remote and distant, that's why I need to learn them seriously. There was once a movie where I played the boss's wife of a coffee shop, so I learned a full set of coffee skills, and I am now allowed to work in a coffee shop with a license. Including learning how to box, and now I want to take piano lessons and guitar lessons, anyway, I just learn them one by one. When I practice, I always feel like I don't have enough time. But it's a more tiring time, and I get very loose and don't do anything every day. I also love playing online games when I'm not working.
